Gladys Gray Bragg

Gladys Gray Bragg, 75, of Cowen, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, after a short illness. She was born July 14, 1943 in Diana, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Lewis Wade and Virgie McCourt Chapman.

Gladys was a homemaker and a farmer, raising and taking care of her animals and working the garden to provide food for her family. Gladys enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Alicia Brooks and fiance’ Nicholas Price of Cowen, Thomas R. (Debra) Fletcher of Cowen, brother Paul Chapman of Flatwoods, grandchildren, Okey Brooks, Natasa (Matthew) Johnson, Lucy Brooks, April (Chris) Lapetoda, great-grandchildren, Brandon and Joshua Lapetoda and many other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, husband, Edward “Chuck” Bragg, brother, Ray Chapman and sister, Lela Mae Beale preceded her in death.

Service will be 1:00pm Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen, with Pastor Tom Kessler officiating. Burial will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00pm Friday, June 7, 2019 at the funeral home.
