Georgia Woods Davis

Georgia Woods Davis, age 92, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, at Summerville Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 6, 1932, to Edgar and Dora (Elliot) Woods. She was a lifelong resident of W ebster C ounty and a graduate from Cowen High, School WV. She married (Buck) Davis June 18, 1950.

She was a devoted member of the P resbyterian Church, Upper Glade. WV. She had a smile for everyone, and she would help anyone. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. Georgia made many beautiful a fghans . She had a passion for adventures where she visited many  states.

She was preceded in death by her husband (Buck) ; one brother , Robert Woods and two sisters , Leo Moffatt and Frankie Tanner ; Debra ‘s grandson, Shawn Eugene Jones ; and a great-grandson Everett Ridge Jones. Georgia leaves behind two children; Carolyn Hammons (Larry) and Jerry Davis (Leona). Georgia adored her 8 grandchildren, Jason Hammons, Ryan Hammons, Michelle Hayhurst S h awn Jones, Jeramy Jones , Stephen Jones , T ina Pa rtain , Teresa Pr ice , Georgia has 14 great -grandchildren, Hunter , Morgan, Hailey, Leanie, Bailey , Hallie Stormie, Hannah, Jordan, Shawn, J ayde n , Isaiah, Chase, Seth, Noah, Isaac, Aj, Aiden, Trey Alexander, Justin, M arissa, William, Johnathon, G eorgia also had 2 great- great children Adaleigh , Karol Rayne . Her best friend Isya (German Shepard) .

Service will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Morris Funeral Home in Cowen with Pastor Terry Cunningham officiating.  Buri a l will be at West Virginia Memorial Gardens in Calvin.  A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 am until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
