Gary “Jimmy” Trenter, 60, of Keyser, WV passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 13, 2022. He was born on May 4, 1962 in Bolair, WV a son to the late Glenda Trenter Knight. In addition to his mother, he was proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents Rufus and Iva Payne Trenter and his brother Ricky Trenter. He is survived by his wife Peggy Smith Trenter of Westernport, MD; his four sons, Travis Mullins of Craigsville, WV, and Gary Trenter II, Cody Smith, and Jeremy Trenter all of Westernport, MD, and daughter Kaylyn Trenter of Keyser, WV and grandson, Landon Collins of Westernport, MD, brothers George (Sandra) Brake of Bolair, WV and John David Knight of Cottle, WV, and sisters Mary Smith of Cottle, WV and Candy Knight of Mill Creek, WV and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Jimmy served in the Navy and spent most of his life working construction. He also worked at several sawmills and was a bartender and bouncer. He loved watching football, American Idol and Wrestling. He was very proud of his and his son’s appearance in the TV Show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Season 5, Episode 24.
Survived by his bonus children Brandon Hartman and Hannah Wotring.
Kimbra Lee Hartman Tell preceded him in death.
Military Graveside inurnment will be conducted by American Legion Post #62 at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 31st at the Trenter Family Farm in Bolair, WV.
