Evelyn Catherine Slyder

Evelyn Catherine Slyder, born on January 2, 1931, in Baltimore, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026. Evelyn lived a full and meaningful life, leaving a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love that touched all those fortunate enough to know her.

Throughout her years, Evelyn devoted herself to caring for others both personally and professionally. She built a career as a skilled cosmetologist, bringing confidence and joy to her clients through her work. She continued to demonstrate her tireless work ethic and commitment by working for a cleaning service, where her attention to detail and sense of responsibility were always appreciated.

Evelyn delighted in life’s simple pleasures and found happiness in nurturing both people and things. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, always creating a warm, inviting atmosphere where all felt welcome at her table. Her artistic spirit shone through in her love of painting, and her hands were often busy tending to her beloved garden, cultivating both beauty and tranquility around her home.

A person of faith, Evelyn attended the Lutheran Church, where she found solace and a sense of community that lasted throughout her life.

Evelyn was a devoted mother, sister, and grandmother. She leaves behind her son, James Ringsbory, her brother, Robert Hunt, and her cherished grandchild, Anikuh Robertson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Neal Hunt and Catherine Kirschenhofer Hunt.  The memory of her late son, Richard Ringsborg, remains ever present in the hearts of those who loved him and Evelyn.
