Evelyn Maxine Rose

Evelyn Maxine Rose, 77, of Dennison Run Road, Cowen, passed away Monday, January 6, 2025, at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH after a lengthy illness. She was born May 14, 1947, a daughter to the late George Price Gadd and the late Flossie Jane Sparks Gadd.

Evelyn was a homemaker, a previous factory worker in Cleveland, OH, she worked for Bright America in Summersville, as well as the owner of Sid’s Tavern on Williams River. She enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening, watching game shows, tending to her flowers and she was the Queen of Weed eating. Evelyn was born on Dennison Run Road where she spent most of her life. She loved her family, and they cherished her.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Christina (Jackie) Carpenter of Williamstown; brothers, Lloyd Gadd, Dennis Gadd, and Harold Gadd all of Cowen; grandchildren, Kasey (Zach) Cogar and Jessica Carpenter; and great grandchildren Paityn, Zayden and Hailey, and many other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Tim Rose, and Ronnie Rose; daughter, Mary Rose; grandson, Jonathan Rose; brothers, Delbert Gadd and Ralph Gadd and sister, Edith Peyatt.

Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen, with Pastor Larry Lovely officiating. Burial will follow at the Gadd Family Cemetery, Dennison Run. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 am until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
