Elizabeth “Kay” Moore

Elizabeth “Kay” Moore, known to many as Mrs. Moore, went home to be with the Lord, December 28, 2021, after a brief illness.  There she joined her parents, Hud and Mildred (Squires) Garrett, sister, Emogene (Miller) and brother, Larry Garrett (survived by his wife Sandi).

Kay was born August 18, 1948 at Richwood, WV. She  graduated from  Cowen High School in 1966.  She then received a degree in Science Education from Shepherd College, and continued to earn a Master’s Degree, Plus.  She taught in Randolph,  Webster and Nicholas Counties (Glenville State College extension). She spoke often of students she admired/inspired.

She will be greatly missed by many, especially her husband, best friend and life mate,  Arnold “Ray” Moore. Kay was a woman of strong Christian faith.  She enjoyed camping and other outdoor activities.

Married December 21, 1971 in Elkins, WV ,  they were blessed with 50 wonderful  years together. 

Services to celebrate her life will be 3:00pm Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen, with David Sommerville officiating.  Friends may join the family from 2:00p.m. until the time of services.
