Edward "Eddie" Sylvester Williams

Edward “Eddie” Sylvester Williams, 74, of Upperglade, lost his brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on the morning of Friday, February 23rd, 2024.

Born in Richwood on July 26th, 1949, he was the son of the late Adrian Sylvester Williams and Sarah Alice Ray Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Debra Ann Williams; Siblings: Louvis Newhouse, Movie Sill, Russell Beale, Billy Williams, Jubert Williams, and Polly Johnson.

Eddie spent the majority of his life working in both construction and logging. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time in the woods. There, he discovered his passion for hunting. He was a gardening and cultivating enthusiast, working around his home and property almost everyday. He was a very proud Papaw. His grandkids/great-grandkids were his pride and joy, along with his doggy companion, Missy.

Left on the this Earth to honor his memory are his Children: Jennifer (Mark) Hamrick of Bergoo, Mark (Gina) Williams of Bolair; Grandchildren: Travis (Danielle) Williams of Cowen, Tiffany (Josh) Clay of Bergoo, Harley and Mavis Williams of Bolair; Great-Grandchildren: Paige Hines and Emberlea Williams of Cowen, Brynlee and Brystol Clay of Bergoo; Siblings: Harold (Ruth) Williams of Erbacon, Bertha Chaffin of Cowen, Jimmy Dale (Kathy) Williams of Summersville; as well as a host of extended relatives and close friends all of who will miss him greatly.

A service honoring Eddie will be held on Wednesday February 28th, 2024 at 6:00 pm at Morris Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Williams officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 pm until the time of the service at Morris Funeral Home. Eddie’s wishes to be cremated will then be honored.
