Donna Jane Given Kafer Age 76, of Buckhannon, WV passed away peacefully at her home on October 18, 2024.

She was born in Richwood, WV to the late D.P. “Sheriff” Given and the late Hazel Arthur Given.

Donna was a 1966 graduate of Webster Springs High School and later graduated from Morgantown Beauty College. Donna owned and operated DJ Styling Salon in Webster Springs for many years where she established many lifelong friendships. Donna later worked for the ABCA Commission and retired from there in 2012. Donna was a member of the First Baptist Church in Webster Spring for many years and after moving to Buckhannon, became a member of Good Hope Tabernacle Church.

Donna absolutely adored her grandsons. She supported them in everything they did and traveled all over the state to watch them participate in various activities. Donna enjoyed her home and loved working outside in her flowers. If you knew her you were lucky enough to know one of the kindest, sweetest souls ever. Donna is survived by her husband of 20 years, John Kafer of Buckhannon, son Chris (Rebecca) Avis of Elkview, daughter Andrea Hamrick of Webster Springs, grandsons, Ian Avis and Trevor Avis both of Morgantown and Samuel Hamrick of Webster Springs, Aunt Pat Cochran of Guardian and Her special cousin Kathy Prinze, of Las Vegas, NV who was more like a sister to Donna. Donna is also survived by several cousins and a host of friends that loved her very much.

Donna’s wishes for cremation have been honored. A memorial service will be held Saturday October 26, 2024, at 3:00pm at Webster Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Holly Hoover officiating. A gathering of friends will be held from 1:00pm until the time of service.
