Donald Richard Miller, 80, of Williams River Road Cowen WV, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at home on February 26, 2025. Don was born in Dyer, WV on August 21, 1944.

Don is survived and greatly missed by his loving wife and best friend of 60 years, Cecile (Cobb); and his daughters Angela (Wes) Miller and Kimberly Klaus. Forever remembered by his five grandchildren, Wesley (Harlie) Miller, Dustin Miller, Bradin Miller (Calee Denman, partner), Arianna Miller, and Graham Klaus; and two great granddaughters, Winry, and Felicity Miller.

Don graduated from Cowen High School in 1962 and married the love of his life, Kathryn Cecile Cobb, in November 1964. Don’s West Virginia heritage allowed him to timber in the Monongahela National Forrest, operate heavy equipment on strip mines, and attend fairs and festivals throughout the State as a concessionaire.

Don loved his home among the hills where an 8 pt and a 9 pt buck serves to welcome guests. He enjoyed fishing on the banks of Williams, the oceanfront at the Outer Banks, and from Florida’s Sunshine Skyway Bridge. He could be found on most game days in his recliner cheering on the Mountaineers and was a fierce checker opponent.

Don was predeceased by his father, George, his mother, Margaret. He was the youngest of six siblings and is predeceased by his brothers James (Frieda), William (Tina), David; sisters Miriam (William) and Barbara. Surviving is one sister-in-law, June Given Miller and several nieces and nephews.

Take My Hand Precious Lord

Precious Lord, take my hand Lead me on, let me stand I’m tired, I’m weak, I’m lone Through the storm, through the night Lead me on to the light Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home. When my way grows drear Precious Lord linger near When my light is almost gone Hear my cry, hear my call Hold my hand lest I fall Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home. When the darkness appears And the night draws near And the day is past and gone At the river I stand Guide my feet, hold my hand Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home.

Precious Lord, take my hand Lead me on, let me stand I’m tired, I’m weak, I’m lone Through the storm, through the night Lead me on to the light Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home.
