Donald Patrick Combs

Donald Patrick Combs, 68, of Richwood, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at the White Sulphur Springs Center, after an extended illness. He was born October 10, 1953 in South Charleston, a son of Deloris Huddleston Combs and the late Donald Lee Combs.

Patrick was a graduate of The University of Florida and also attended Ohio State University and Cornell University. He retired as a manager at Winn-Dixie Grocery and was a former history instructor at the University of Florida. Patrick had a passion for fencing and was a fencing coach at the University of Florida. He was a member of U.S. Olympic Fencing Team the year the United States boycotted the Olympics. Patrick loved playing chess, computers, reading, history, he spoke several different languages and was a Catholic by Faith.

Surviving are his mother, Deloris Combs, siblings, Michael A (Linda) Combs of Lago Vista Texas, Sarah Beth Combs of Coconut Creek, Florida and Christina (James) Caddell of Morgan’s Point, Texas and several nephews and a niece.

His father Donald Lee Combs and spouse, Andree Combs preceded him in death.

Patrick’s wishes for cremation have been honored and a graveside inurnment will take place at 2:00pm Thursday, August 4, 2022 at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, WV. With Rev. Mister Harry Evans officiating
