Derrick Steven Taylor

Derrick Steven Taylor, born October 31st, 1965 left this world unexpectedly for his eternal home on July 11, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Jesse and Esta (Rae) Taylor, uncles George, and Eddie Taylor.

Surviving him are daughter Jessica Taylor-Davis (husband Caleb), son Brandon Taylor (wife Mikaela), grandchildren Kiara Taylor and Mia and August Davis, friend Rebecca Taylor, Robert Movens, and dear special friend Larry Carpenter.

Derrick was a logger by trade, and thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing poker, and pool. He enjoyed spending time with his family when he wasn’t wheeling and dealing at flea markets and shops. He also enjoyed working on cars – one of which was a rebuilt ’57 Chevy.

Visitation for friends and family will be held at Morris Funeral home on July 14th at 5-6pm followed by a celebration of life service at 6pm with Rev. Curt Davis officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Morris Funeral Home to help cover funeral and burial expenses.
