Darrell Mitchel White

Darrell Mitchel White, 70, of Upper Glade, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family, after an extended illness. He was born March 26, 1952, in Beckley, a son of the late Delbert “Buss” and Mamie Dunbar White.

Mitchel was a former loader operator on several logging jobs. He loved going turkey hunting and deer hunting with his brothers, Ronnie and Wilmer. He enjoyed gardening and beekeeping. He loved his honey bees, as well as his milk cow Daisy Mae. Darrel loved his family dearly.

Surviving is his loving wife of 42 years, Betty, children, Jessica White of Upper Glade, Jennifer (Matthew) Castle of St. Albans, Patricia (Luke) Whitehair of Glenville and Nancy White of Upper Glade, siblings, Ronnie (Melinda) White of Bolair, Wilmer White of Upper Glade, Sissy (Bill) Woods of Cowen and Ed White of Upper Glade, grandchildren, Emma, Sofia and Michael, special friends, Junior (Crystal) Hammons of Milton, Ricky (Mary) Hammons of Craigsville, Barbara (Johnnie) Lewis of Cowen, Youvone (Jimmy) Lawson of Craigsville and many friends made over the years.

In addition to his parents, brothers, Leo White, Haral White, Romie White, Delmar White and Dale White preceded him in death.

Darrell’s wishes for cremation have been honored with no service.
