Danny Lee Lewis

Danny Lee Lewis, 56, of Cowen passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018 at home with his loving family by his side, following an extended illness. He was born September 8, 1961 in Webster Springs, a son of the late Wilford and Margie Webb Lewis.

Danny was a former diesel mechanic, having worked many years in the logging industry. He was also a very talented auto mechanic and enjoyed working on friend’s cars. He also was a former sawmill worker. In his spare time Danny enjoyed tinkering on cars, spending time with his kids and grandchildren and just being in the outdoors.

He is survived by the love of his life, wife, Erica Gregory Lewis, children, Brantlee Lewis, Chandler Lewis, Danny Smith all of Cowen, Danielle Huffman Lewis of Fenwick, Nicole Justice of Craigsville, Jason Lewis of Cowen, DJ Lewis and Maverick Lewis both of Bolair, siblings, Carolyn (Gerald) Handschumacher of Cowen, Shirley (Don) Forga of Craigsville, Woody (Lana) Lewis of Ohio, Bill (Ann) Lewis of Cowen, Duke Lewis of Webster Springs, Charles Lewis, Larry Lewis and Jerry Lewis all of Bolair, 7 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, brothers Steve and Rickey Lewis preceded him in death.

In keeping with Danny’s wishes, he chose to be cremated with a Memorial Service to be held at 2:00pm. Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen. Friends may gather from 12:00 until time of the service, Saturday, at the funeral home.
