Daniel Junior ”Bub” Holcomb

Daniel Junior ”Bub” Holcomb, 80, of Erbacon, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022 at his home after a short illness. He was born March 20, 1942 in Cowen, West Virginia, a son of the late Daniel and Lola Marie Tharp Holcomb.

Bub owned and operated his own sawmill for over 20 years. “Mountain State Mill. He was a former coal truck driver, coal miner, logger, and saw mill operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on his saw mill, working on his tractor, watching western, trading. Bub really enjoyed when his family was around, especially those grandchildren he loved and cherished.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Zelda Knight, of Cowen, Kim (Jerry) Salisbury, of Erbacon, grandchildren, Jesse (Kearstin) Salisbury, Kody Salisbury, Andrew (Bobbie) Ayers, Jacob (Taylor) Salisbury, Colt (Alex) Knight, Peyden Knight, great-grandchildren, Madeline Paige Ayers, Liam Andrew Ayers, Luke Alexander Ayers, Calliope Michelle Rowh, Greyson Timothy Michael, Peyton Elizabeth, Aydan Dale Salisbury, Harrison Zeph Salisbury, Luke Joseph Salisbury and Elijah Daniel Salisbury on the way. Bub also had many nieces and nephews to mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, son, Joseph Daniel Holcomb, sister, Emogene Crites and brother, Jerry Holcomb preceded him in death.

Service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen, with Pastor Polly Greene Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Erbacon. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
