Dallas Lloyd Brooks, 58, was born on July 9, 1967, in Welch, West Virginia, passed away on January 30, 2026, in Craigsville West Virginia. He left a legacy marked by his hard work, strong character, and a great sense of humor that touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A proud graduate of Webster County High School in 1985, Dallas dedicated much of his life to the coal mining industry before transitioning into a successful career as a general contractor. His work ethic and commitment to his projects were evident in every endeavor he undertook, earning him the respect of his peers and community.
Dallas cherished many fond memories, particularly those spent with his daughters, Kayla Brooks from California and Whitlee Winals Brooks from Summersville. His love for them was boundless, and he always sought to create lasting moments filled with laughter and joy.
He is survived by his loving mother, Patricia Fletcher (Richard) of Ohio; his sister, Alena Lovin (Jeff) of Florida; his brother, Gary Brooks (Delca) of Ohio, and his sister Shonet (Randy) Beale in Virginia. In addition, he leaves behind many other extended family members and friends whose lives he touched deeply.
Dallas now joins his father, Junior Brooks, who has preceded him in death. His memory will live on through the stories shared and the love imparted to all who knew him.
Service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen. Burial will follow at the Black's Chapel Cemetery, Stroud's Creek. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00pm until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
