Chad Steven Given

Chad Steven Given 33, of Dillwyn, Va went home to be with the Lord on Saturday June 20, 2020 at his home. Chad was born in Webster Springs, Wv on March 30, 1987 and grew up in Bergoo, Wv.

Chad was a dedicated diesel mechanic at EZ Hauling and Repair of Dillwyn, Va. Chad enjoyed many outdoor activities, cooking, tinkering on vehicles and playing the guitar. Most of all Chad enjoyed playing with his son Gunnar. He loved to make people smile and his smile would brighten up anyone’s day.

Chad had a big soft spot for children, he would stop what he was doing to play with the kids. He was always talking about his boys, Chaddy and Gunnar. Chad was the proudest daddy in the world.

Chad never met a stranger. He was always there to help in anyway he could. His nature was to be a “protector”. He was never afraid to stand up for someone he thought needed protection.

Nobody’s life will be the same because on that Saturday God whispered Chad’s name.

Left behind to keep his memory alive are his proudest accomplishments are his son’s Chad “Chaddy” Given Steven Given II, and Gunnar Taylor Given. His “Momma” Penny Cochran, father Gregg Given, sister Staci Given Hall, brother Bucky McCourt, Grandmother Lina Hamrick, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

Chad is preceded in death by a very special cousin Trenton Ray Clutter and stepdad “Big Buck” McCourt.

Service will be held at 6pm Sunday June 28, 2020 at Morris Funeral Home Cowen with pastor Benny Cowger officiating. Friends may join the family from 5pm until time of the service Sunday at the Funeral Home.
