Burton Edward Taylor

Burton Edward Taylor, 74, of Cowen, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 14, 1946, in Elkins, a son of the late Wilbert and Aretta Bell Taylor.

Burton was a retired coal miner, having worked 24 years at Peerless Eagle Coal Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, feeding deer and squirrels at his home, and spending time with his family.

Surviving is his loving wife, Pamela Miller Taylor, sons, Dwayne (Anita) Taylor of Bolair, Kevin Taylor of Bolair and Chris (Mamie) Taylor of Cowen, brother, Jess Taylor of Williams River,  grandchildren, Kayla (Robert) Sims of Cowen, Pamela (Billy) Cassady of Linside, Harley Taylor (Dalton Wolverton)  of Erbacon, Noah Taylor of Bolair, Angel (Mark)Royster and Sarah Grace Taylor both of Kannapolis,  North Carolina, great-grandchildren, KalEl, Elli, and Thea Sims, Addie, Dustin, and Remington Taylor and one on the way.

In addition to his parents, brother, George Taylor preceded him in death.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Rev. Keith Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Woods Cemetery, Bolair.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 until time of service at the funeral home.
