Betty Jo Fowler

Betty Jo Fowler, 86, of Boggs passed February 9, 2017 at the Summersville extended care center after an extended illness.

She was born February 10, 1930 in Boggs a daughter of the late Estel Delbert and Margaret Blankenship Boggs.

Betty was a retired nursing assistant having formerly working at Webster County Memorial Hospital and Braxton Memorial. She enjoyed working, canning, collecting bottles, she especially enjoyed going to the beach. She was a Baptist by Faith.

Surviving are her children, Delbert Vaughn (Fran) Fowler of Birch River, Ginger Hamrick of Birch River, sisters, Mary (Sam) Baughman of Summersville, Pauline (Jack) Miller of Cowen, grandchildren, Scott (Amber) Hamrick of Birch River, Christina Fowler of Teays Valley, great- grandson, Seth Hamrick of Morgantown.

In addition to her parents her loving husband, Hazel Carl Fowler, brothers, Burnell Boggs, Estel Boggs Jr., Annis Boggs, sisters, Gladys Fowler, Cynthia Rhodes and Joann Stallard preceded her in death.

Service will be 3:00pm. Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with a eulogy by the Honorable Jack Alsop. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen. Friends may call from 1:00pm. Until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
