Betty Lou (Roberts) Fincham, passed away on May 23, 2026, at the CAMC Memorial in Charleston, West Virginia, after an extended illness. She was 67 years of age. Born on May 21, 1959, in Richwood, West Virginia, Betty Lou lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and a warm spirit that touched the lives of many.
For over two decades, Betty Lou devoted her talents and hard work to the B.F. Goodrich Plant, where she was instrumental in manufacturing rubber rafts for the United States Military and airplane escape slides—a critical role that underscored her commitment and attention to detail. Her career was a source of pride, but it was her loving nature and welcoming personality that truly defined her.
Betty Lou was a woman deeply rooted in her faith, a Christian by conviction, which guided her through life’s joys and challenges. She found great joy in the simple pleasures: hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Her green thumb was evident in the many hours she spent tending to flowers and engaging in yard work, and she expressed her creativity through crafting. She also enjoyed the rewarding routine of housekeeping, finding comfort and purpose in caring for her home.
Above all, Betty Lou cherished the moments spent with family. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Jeffrey Fincham, who stood by her side through all seasons. Along with Jeffrey, her many extended family members, friends, and co-workers carry forward the memory of her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness.
Betty Lou’s passing leaves a profound void, especially for those who knew her intimately. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl J. Roberts; mother, Mary Hazel Compton Roberts; sister, Kathern Sue Donaldson; and niece, Janice Bailes. Their memories, intertwined with hers, remain a testament to a cherished family lineage.
Her legacy is one of compassion, faith, and steadfast dedication—qualities that will linger in the hearts of all fortunate enough to have known her. Betty Lou Fincham’s life invites reflection on the power of kindness and the profound impact of a well-lived, lovingly devoted life. She will be remembered with respect, gratitude, and enduring affection.
Betty's request for cremation will be honored with no service.
