Arden Ray Prater Sr.

Arden Ray Prater Sr., 63, of Camden on Gauley, passed away Friday, February 18, 2022 at Webster County Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was born May 26, 1958 in Richwood, a son of the late Arden Lee and Pheobe Cool Prater.

Arden was a logger and a former mechanic at Hewitt Motors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing his guitar, working on cars and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are his siblings, Doy (Sandra) Prater of Camden on Gauley, Della Roach of Cottle, Martha (Calvin) Short of Camden on Gauley, Mary Hurst of Camden on Gauley and Rose (Joe) Hurst of Camden on Gauley, grandchildren, Emma, Avah, Liam and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, son, Arden Ray Prater Jr., and sister, Sylvia Prater preceded him in death.

Arden’s wishes for cremation have been honored and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
