Annabelle Barnette

BOGGS, WV- On Friday, December 16, 2022 after a sudden illness the Lord called AnnaBelle Barnette of Boggs, WV home to be with him.

AnnaBelle was 98, born February 2, 1924 in Tioga, WV to parents George and Letha (Riddle) Roberts. She was one of 6 children born to the couple and was the loving mother to 3 children Lynette, Roy and Luella.

AnnaBelle was a God loving christian who lived a very full life, especially after surviving breast cancer when she was 55 yrs old. She had many jobs over the years including teaching at a one room school, to LPN at the former Weston State Hospital in Weston, WV where she retired from. She traveled all over the world including a stop in Ireland to kiss the Blarney Stone, visiting Pearl Harbor in Hawaii and her last trip being to Israel to walk where Jesus walked. She enjoyed going to church, traveling, camping, cooking, sewing, and reading romance and western novels. She also loved teaching her grandchildren and great grandchildren how to cook and sew. She was always very outspoken, caring, loving and would never let you leave her house hungry. She loved life and will be greatly missed by all!

She was preceded in death by her husband Okey Barnette, sisters Elsie Rotondo, Ruby Roberts and brother Doran Roberts; 2 Grandchildren; Parents George and Letha Roberts.

She is survived by her children Lynette(Roy) Mason, Roy Blankenship and Luella(Jimmy) Utt; Sisters Erma(George) Wilt and EmmaJean Barnhouse. Also 9 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held May 13, 2023 in Boggs, WV at which time her cremated remains will be laid to rest with her husband Okey.
