Alden Lee Short

Alden Lee Short, 73, of Camden on Gauley, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at his residence following a short illness. He was born January 10, 1947 in Coe, West Virginia, a son of the late Denver and Carrie Hammond Short.

Alden was a hardworking coal miner for over 45 years and a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed snowshoe rabbit hunting, coon hunting, training his dogs, and working on his truck. Alden loved spending time with his grand children and his great grandchildren.

Surviving are his loving wife of over 50 years Linda Short, sons, Kevin and Keith Short both of Camden on Gauley, brothers, Darrell (Marsha) Short, Vic (Debbie) Short, sisters, Joy Snyder, Linda Hefner and Zeffra Carpenter, grandchildren, Matthew, Wesly, Dakota, Cody, Chasey and Colton, great-grandchildren, Levi, Jacob, Elena, Chaselyn, Arizona, Jace and Ezekiel.

In addition to his parents, brothers, Alvin Short, Denny Short, Dana Short and Donald Short preceded him in death.

Alden’s request for cremation has been honored with no service.
