Services will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with the Rev James “Oz” Gray officiating. Burial will follow at the Woods Cemetery, Kingfisher Road, Bolair, WV. Friends may join the family from 11:00 am until time of the service Friday at the funeral home.

William George Taylor, 82, of Cowen, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at Summersville Regional Medical Center after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. He was born August 6, 1936 in Webster County, a son of the late Wilbert and Aretta Bell Taylor.
George retired from Island Creek Coal Company having worked over 40 years in the mining industry. He was a 30 year member of the UMWA. After his retirement, he became an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed hunting, camping and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
George is survived by his children, Sherry Lynn (Randy) Hines of Upper Glade, George Alan (Sarah) Taylor of Topsail, North Carolina and Mike (Kelly) Taylor of Cowen, brothers Jess Taylor and Burton Taylor of Cowen. Grandchildren, Jeremy, Michelle, Cody, Cole, Lyndy, Shannon, Jazmine, Arreta, Michael, Kassie and Michael Foster, great-grandchildren, Gracie, Elizabeth, Mackynzie, Jersey, Allana, Kayleigh and Anika.
In addition to his parents, wife Clarice Taylor and grandson Mitchell Sanson preceded him in death.
