Ruth Lea Barrier went home to be with the Lord on August 21, 2016 at home after an extended illness. Ruth was the daughter of the late Don and Mae Blake.

She was a Christian by faith. Ruth was a wonderful mother to three children Carol (Geoff) Cogar of Bolair, Chris (Bill) Thacker of Gauley Bridge, and David (Cathy ) Barrier of Cowen. Grandchildren, Timmy Selman, Michael Ellison, Brittany Jones, Colton and Hunter Thacker, Chris (Alisha) Gould. Ruth has five great grandchildren, Dakota and Aiden Jones, Kiley Ellison, Capri and Amya Gould.

Ruth has 6 siblings, Carol (Frankie) Perrine of Williams River, Shelba (Harvey) Jones of Craigsville, Barb Blake of Virginia, Donna Boggs of Diana, Joey Blake of Craigsville, and Paul (Shirley) Blake of Spencer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother Herbert Blake and granddaughter Melinda Jo Ellison.

Services will be held Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen. Final resting place will be at Alex Williams Cemetery on Cranberry Ridge. Friends may call Sunday from 1:00pm until time of service at the Funeral Home.
