Services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday April 8, 2021 at Morris Funeral Home Cowen West Virginia with a eulogy by Joe Myers burial with full military honors conducted by American Legion post 62 will follow at the Gospel Fellowship Church Cemetery Upperglade.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic CDC and State guidelines for social distancing and facil coverings are recommended.

Roy Randall Potter, 87, of Cowen, passed away Friday March 26, 2021 at Charleston Area Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born February 2, 1934 in Webster Springs, a son of the late Don and Macel Mullins Potter.

Roy was a former police officer and also worked for Monongahlia Power Company. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans, a former member of the Moose Lodge. Roy enjoyed horse racing, training horses, fishing, and spending time in the outdoors.

Surviving are his children Roy Randell Murphy, of Gilboa, West Virginia, Susan Swecker, and Macel Potter both of Cowen. His seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren are left to cherish his memories.

In addition to his parents loving wife Carolyn Potter and son Brent Stephenson preceded him in death.

Services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday April 8, 2021 at Morris Funeral Home Cowen West Virginia with a eulogy by Joe Myers burial with full military honors conducted by American Legion post 62 will follow at the Gospel Fellowship Church Cemetery Upperglade. Friends may call from 11:00am until time of service.
