A visitation will be held Thursday September 2, 2021 at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, West Virginia, 26588. Friends and family may visit the funeral home from 1:00PM until 4:00pm.

Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday September 3, 2021 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen, with Pastor Bennie Cowger officiating. Burial will follow at the Handschumacher Cemetery, Upper Glade.

Friends may call from 11:30am until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.

The family requested that the guidelines for facial covers and social distancing be followed for the services.

On Saturday, August 28, 2021, Robert Gene Satterfield loving husband and father of 3 passed away at age 58.

Robert was born September 18, 1962, he was raised by Festus and Pearl Satterfield. He lived the first part of his life in Rivesville, West Virginia and the last part of his life in Webster Springs. He worked for Bright Horizons at Webster County Department of Human Health Resources. On July 2, 1988, he married his wife of 33 years Barbara Grounds Satterfield, they raised 3 daughters.

Bob had many hobbies, he was a published author, and he liked all things old, Rock and Roll music, books, comics, and collectables. He would tell anyone who would listen about his hobbies.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Fetus and Pearl Satterfield, and Elsie Olmstead.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Barbara and 3 daughters, Mary (Jason) of Wheeling, West Virginia, Elizabeth of Summersville, West Virginia, and Joni (Justin) of Cowen, West Virginia. He had 5 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren, Jamie, Warren, Ryan, Owen, Daisy, Bently, Joslyn, along with several nieces and nephews that he loved and cherished dearly.
