Mitchell “Poppy” Wolverton, 67, of Erbacon passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from injuries received in a lawn mower accident. He was born December 4, 1950 in Richwood a son of the late Earl and Alta Tharp Wolverton.

Mitchell was the owner and operator of Wolverton Logging for over 30 years. He’s the Pastor at Trinity Covenant Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, mowing, watching the SCI – FY Channel and being in the outdoors. Mitchell was a jack of all trades and loved being with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife Darlene, children, Sam (Tina) Wolverton, Sarah (Shane) Cunningham and Jody Wolverton, brothers, Randall Wolverton and Andy Wolverton, grandchildren, Destini, Gabriella, Chloe, Eli and Connor and many other friends, neighbors and church family.

In addition to his parents, son, Jeffrey Lynn Wolverton, brother, David Wolverton and sister, Jule Wolverton preceded him in death.
