Mary Jean Kandel, 64, of Webster Springs, passed away Tuesday April 5, 2022, at Webster County Memorial Hospital, after a short illness. She was born December 10, 1957, in Ohio, a daughter of the late James and Gene Hickerson King.

Mary spent many of her years as a loving homemaker, she enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. She also liked to spend time sitting on her front porch, and her kitchen table with her family and friends. She liked getting planting, listening to her radio, playing cards with friends, and could always be found playing games on her tablet.

She is survived by her children, Rita (James) Gregory, of Cowen, Jacqueline (Matthew) Harris of Cowen, Elizabeth (James) Summers, of North Carolina, siblings, Jim King of Belize, Peggy Tisone of St. Louis, grandchildren, Levi Scott Gregory McIe, Carter Nicholas Bernard, Leah Jean Mullens, Kara Maye Harris, Matthew Rodney Harris, Adrienne Michelle Gregory, Carter Ezra Gregory, James Barton Summers IV.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday April 13, 2022, at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen, with Pastor Doug Martin officiating, friends may call from 12:00pm Wednesday until time of the service at the Funeral Home.
