Service will be held at 1:00pm Monday, August 26, 2019 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Pastor Larry Lovely officiating. Burial will follow at the Gospel Fellowship Church Cemetery, Upper Glade. Friends may call from 11:00am until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Lehr G. Bean went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 23, 2019. He had been ill for several months and died at home in the care of his loving family.

Lehr was born on September 27, 1934, a son of the late Carl and Maude (Casto) Bean. He was raised in Erbacon with his nine brothers and sisters: Helen (Denzil) Crites both deceased, Charlotte Downey, Carl Loyd (Ruth, deceased) Bean, Daniel (Joyce) Bean, Eddie (Kim) Bean, Kimmy Bean, deceased, Tommy deceased  (Susan) Bean, Carlene (Ray) Wright and Madelyn (Ellie) Candelira.

Lehr will be sadly missed by his wife Lenora and his children Pam Butcher, Jeff Bean and his wife Rosemary, Cindy Mace and her husband John, stepdaughters Rachel French and Chez McGown; sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren whom he adored. And many nieces, nephews and friends.

Lehr was anxious to see his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He will join in Heaven his wife of 49 years, Thelma (Cunningham) Bean, his son Rick Bean, two beautiful grandchildren Cody and Whitney Bean and two great grandchildren Hudson and Lelia Mimlitsch.

Lehr was well known and respected in the community as a businessman and as a craftsman. He owned and operated Bean’s Service Station and Suzuki shop for over twenty years and was a coal miner for 14 years. He was a role model, friend and mentor to the many who spent time at the station or at his shop. His wood working skills were exemplary and will provide lasting memories of Lehr for generations to come.
