Service will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Brother Larry Armentrout officiating. Burial will follow at the Wayne Family Cemetery, Dennison Run. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Kathyrn Sue Wayne, 64, of Summersville, formerly of Webster County, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the WVU Summersville Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born January 4, 1958 in Richwood, a daughter of the late Rev. Okey and Ilene Virginia Goff Wayne.

She was a 1976 graduate of Webster County High School. Kathy worked many years locally in the restaurant business as a cook and waitress. She was a Christian by Faith. Kathy enjoyed cooking, crocheting, watching westerns, most especially John Wayne who she was a huge fan and spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are her children, Angela (David) Rader of Mt. Nebo and Nicole “Nicky” (Mark) Champ of Camden on Gauley, sister, Mary (Phillip) Burford of Sissonville, grandchildren, Nicholas, Brayden, Brenda (Cody), Jr (Kendall), Kierstin, Leland and Cody, great-grandchildren, Haley, Jayden, Alivia, Carter and many extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, siblings, Becky Payne, Frank Wayne, Shirley Turner, Jimmy Wayne, Ann Maynard and nephew Ron Wayne preceded her in death.
