Julie Volores Smith, 70, of Webster Springs formerly of Cowen passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport after a short illness. She was born November 23, 1949 in Webster County, a daughter of the late William Clyde and Hazel Virginia Taylor Smith.

Julie was a homemaker and a former grandparent volunteer at Glade Schools. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and socializing with her Elk Riverview Terrace friends, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Virginia (John) Cunningham of Texas, Sandy (Lee) Ayers of Cowen and Charlotte (Michael) Skaggs of Virginia, sister Helen (Alfred) Bennett of Delray, West Virginia, grandchildren, Matthew Riffle, Bianca (Damon) Quinn of Cowen, Christopher Miller of Fairmont, Kelci Skaggs of Virginia, Andrew (Bobbie) Ayers of Cowen, Candace (Zach) Simmons of Webster Springs, great-grandchildren, Madilyn, Liam, Luke, Kinley, Whitney, Zachary, Brody and Chase and many other nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and her loving dog Toby.

In addition to her parents, siblings, Mary Jane Burkman, Carol Persinger, Judith Hamrick, Garland “Bud” Smith, William “Wink” Smith, Jack Smith, Maryland Smith, Kathy Smith, Daryle Smith, Gerald Smith and companion Charles Clevenger preceded her in death.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00pm Monday, May 4, 2020 at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen.

While paying respects, please remember face coverings and social distancing are encouraged.
