Howard Donald “Don” Burgess, 73, of Belington, WV, passed away peacefully, February 14, 2019 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 11, 1945, in Montgomery, WV, a son of the late Okey and Elizabeth Keeling Burgess.

He was a graduate of Montgomery High School and attended WV Tech. He retired from Kenna Metals after 39 years. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and 4 wheeling. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Don is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jann and children: Howard Donald Jr (Cindy) Burgess of Trumbull, OH, Karen Burgess of Ohio, Tony (Davina) Burgess, of Ohio, Crystal (Frank) Duncan of Ohio, Ronnie (Donna) Garrison of Bolair, WV, Terry Garrison of Bluefield, VA, Cindi Cogar of Bolair, WV, Kim Redman of Beverly, WV, and Dale (Dawn) Garrison of Belington, WV.  Grandchildren: Ray Burgess, Ashley Burgess, Caitlyn Moore, Owen Duncan, Aubrie Burgess, Max Burgess, Jaiden Moore, Bobby Brown, Paula Brown, Shelby Richards, Vince Burgess, Makenzie Burgess, Jordan Burgess, Emery Burgess, Gabby Burgess, Meah Burgess, Gage Burgess, Emma Burgess, Stephanie Garrison, Curtis Stanley, Miranda Sims, Aden Sims, Liam Sims, Terry Garrison, Jr, Trenton Garrison, Nessa Garrison, Brandon Cogar, Emily Cogar, Jaxon Cogar, Zachary Cogar, Paityn Cogar, Zayden Cogar, Cody Cogar, PresLeigh Cogar, RaeLeigh Cogar, Tommy Redman, Clarissa Redman, Nathon Garrison and Kyle Garrison.

In addition to his parents, siblings, Arthur Burgess, Earl Burgess, Alfred Burgess, Ronnie Burgess, Gaye Estep, Linda Estep and son-in-law Eddie Cogar preceded him in death.

Services will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen, WV with Pastor Tom Kessler and Pastor Rick Case officiating. Friends may call from 1:00pm until time of service at the funeral home. In keeping with Don’s wishes, cremation will follow the service.
