Harold Learoy “Junior” Clay, 74, of Camden on Gauley, passed away on January 8, 2022, at his residence after a sudden illness. He was born April 8, 1947, in Cottle. A son of the late Harold Denver “Buck” and Wilda Marie Clay.

He was 1965 graduate of Cowen High School. After graduation Harold was drafted into the United States Army he was a Helicopter Crew Chief during the Vietnam War. He was a former plant manager at Clay Oil Company, former mechanic for Leslie Sawmill, former log truck driver for Dick Smith and retired from Columbia Forest Products.

Junior enjoyed working, mowing, keeping the family farm up, fishing, and riding his boss hoss trike and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his children Sheila (Garry) Crislip of Camden on Gauley, Johnny (Bobbie) Clay of Camden on Gauley, siblings, Judy (Shoning) Mills of Mills Mountain, Walter (Kathy) Clay of Beckley, Roger Clay of Camden on Gauley, grandchildren, Cody (Destini) Crislip, Jonathon Clay (Allie Boone), Joshua(Tiffany) Clay, Lazarus Stubber, Jazmine Stubber, Shyanna Crislip, Rebel Clay, great-grandchildren, Brynlee Clay, Brystol Clay, and a host of other friends and extended family.
