Burial Date March 6, 2021

Service will be 4:00pm Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Pastor Doug Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the Woods Cemetery, Bolair, West Virginia. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00pm until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Due to current Covid-19 pandemic following state and CDC guidelines for social distancing and facial coverings are required.

Goldia Mae Chambers, 83, of Cowen, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at the Davis Regional Medical Center, Elkins after a short illness. She was born November 1, 1937 in Webster County, a daughter of the late Gordon and Flossie Hammons Ware.

Goldia was a lifelong resident of Webster County. She loved the simple little things in life, family gatherings, car rides in the country and gathering water from the mountain springs. She had a pure heart and her love was our family’s glue. Her door was always open to anyone and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are her children, Janice (Bob) Tyler of Cowen, Lawrence Chambers of Camden on Gauley, Mary Grace Knapp of Charleston, Peggy Chambers of Cowen, Erma Chambers of Camden on Gauley, Billy Gene (Gail) Chambers of Tennessee, Alvin Chambers of Cowen and Rebecca (Jeff) Williams of Camden on Gauley, siblings, Wilma Tyler, Louise Tyler, Jessie Pitts, Juanita Tracy and Arnold Ware.  Grandchildren, Ashley Williams, Cody Williams, Tina Weese, Brandon Dempsey, Sabrina Tyler, Cheryl Jackson, Nina Mullens, Travis Tyler, Samantha Tyler, Corey Chambers, Miranda Chambers, Malia Chambers, Savanna Chambers, Aaron Chambers Barry and 15 loving great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parent’s, husband, Leroy Chambers, son, James Leroy Chambers Jr., and several siblings preceded her in death.
