Graveside service will be held Thursday March 25, 2021 at 1:00pm at Hamrick Family Cemetery, Point Mountain with Pastor Bennie Cowger officiating.

Frances Ruth (Lake) Jordan, formerly of Webster Springs, West Virginia, passed away with her family at her daughter’s home in McConnelsville, Ohio on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. She was born in Webster County on September 21, 1941, a daughter of the late Jennings Thomas and Mildred Gertrude (McCartney) Lake.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband Montie and eleven siblings.

Cherishing their memories of Frances are four children: Tammy McCoy and husband Shawn, of Webster Springs, West Virginia, Monica Cogar, of Webster Springs, West Virginia, Michael Jordan and wife Christina of Cowen, West Virginia, and Carla Wilson and husband Jeffrey of McConnelsville, Ohio, grandchildren, Shaunda, Samantha, Justina, Ryan, Zane, Anthony, Elana, and Preston, several great- grandchildren and five siblings: Conley Lake and wife LulaMae of Replete, West Virginia, Nellie Georges and husband Steve, of Atwater, Ohio, Edna Wilfong and husband Cecil of Warren, Ohio, Nola McCray and husband Leonard of Hacker Valley, West Virginia, and Emie Lake and wife Peggy of Richwood, West Virginia.

Frances was a Christian and worked as a homemaker for many years in Webster County, West Virginia before moving to McConnelsvile, Ohio. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing dominoes, and birdwatching. She was highly sought out by family and friends for homemade biscuits and sage advice; no one made biscuits like hers and one always knew she would give honest, wise advice about whatever was asked. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
