Eddie Arnold Cogar, 68, of Bolair passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born October 15, 1947 in Buckhannon, a son of the late Ernest W. and Pauline Mustoe Cogar.

Eddie was a former coal miner and a contractor specializing in brick and block laying. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Vietnam Conflict. Eddie loved muscle cars as well as fast cars and his Harley Davidson, having owned many over the years. He loved feeding the squirrels, birds and deer around the house. Eddie enjoyed the beach, his grandchildren and being with family and friends. He also enjoyed driving Maddie Williams in her parades.

He is survived by his best friend and love of his life, Cindi Garrison Cogar, children, Brian (Misty) Cogar, Brandon (Janthe) Cogar, Zachary (Kasey) Cogar, Cody (BrieAnna) Cogar. Sisters, Sharon (Roland) Carpenter, Kathy (Wally) Mullens. Brother, Doug (Diane) Cogar, grandchildren, Amber and Alex Cogar, Emily and Jaxon Cogar, Katie Carpenter, Paityn and Zayden (Buckshot) Cogar, CharLeigh and PresLeigh Cogar and one on the way. Mother in law, Jann (Don) Burgess. His furbabies Valdez and Kruz. Extended family, Samantha, Justin, Benton, and Everly Jo Summerfield, Rob (Melissa) Wyatt, David (Melinda) Boggess and Family.

In addition to his parents, Eddie is proceeded in death by his children, Bradley Edward and Paula Paige Cogar and sister, Patricia Hickman.

Service will be 1:00pm. Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Pastor Michael Malcomb and Rev. Marty Cowger officiating. Entombment with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post # 62 will be in the Eddie Cogar Memorial, Bolair.

Friends may gather for a celebration of life from 6:00 to 9:00pm. Monday, September 26, 2016 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen.
