Services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Pastor Marty Cowger officiating. Burial will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen. Friends may call from 12:00 until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Arlie C. Addington, 79, of Cowen, passed away Friday, May 29, 2020 at the Hospice House at CAMC  after an extended illness. He was born August 8, 1940 in Camden on Gauley, a son of the late Chester and Edith Plummer Addington.

Arlie was a former U.M.W.A. coal miner last having worked for the Hobert Mine. He was a former business owner, having owned Cowen Stores and the Cowen Texaco. Arlie was also a former wine distributer for the state of West Virginia. He was a 1960 graduate of Cowen High School, and a former member of the Cowen Volunteer Fire Department, Cowen Lions Club and the Odd Fellows Lodge. Arlie attended the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church and enjoyed hunting and wood working.

Surviving is his loving wife of 59 years, Rena Sue Morris Addington, children, Craig (Lisa) Addington of Charleston, Todd Addington of Cowen and Lisa (Jim) Hamrick of Cowen, sister, Joyce (Keith) Fletcher of Charleston, brother, David (Vanessa) Addington of Pax, grandchildren, Jaqueline (Bernard) Hickman of Valdosta, Georgia, Ashley Addington of Charleston, Josh (Katharyn) Addington of Steven City, Virginia and Arlie Junior Hamrick of Cowen, great-grandchildren, Scarlett Hickman, Theodore Hickman and soon to be Jeremiah Hursel Addington and many other extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, sisters, Willa Dean Nichols and Connie Bennett preceded him in death.
